Srinagar – A missing close associate of Ikhwan gunman Papa Kishtwari is reported to have gone across the LoC several years ago, the government told the assembly today.
Replying to questions by members, the state home ministry said that it had reports that Abdul Rasheed Paddar had gone across the LoC, and that they were no records of him having ever been a special police officer (SPO).
A resident of Kharpora, Kokernag, Paddar had gone missing in 1997, and there was no trace of him since.
Last April, the district screening committee had kept his case pending, and called for further investigations in his whereabouts.(Observer News Service)
