Srinagar – Minister for Health, . Sham Lal Sharma while replying to a calling attention notice moved by . Vijay Bakaya said that the Health and Medical Education Department is going to make the Super Speciality Hospitals in the State functional shortly.
He said owing to the acute shortage of doctors, para medical and ministerial staff in the department a decision has been taken by the government that the migrant doctors, para medical and ministerial staff shall be called back in the department and their services shall be utilized as per the convenience of the migrant staff.
The Minister said that presently there are 111 migrant doctors, 33 Ministerial cadre staff and 418 Para Medical staff who are drawing their salary from the offices of Resident Commissioner New Delhi, Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, Government Medical College, Jammu and Directorate of ISM against the lien posts of Health and Medical Education Department. The posts held by these migrant staff cannot be filled on substantive basis so long as these posts are held by migrant staff, he added.
The Minister, however, on pursuant demand of the members granted 30 days joining time to such doctors and para medical staff instead of 15 days earlier notified.
