BDC elections
Doda – With a view to discuss arrangements and frame other modalities to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of the forthcoming Block Development Council (BDC) elections, District Development Commissioner Doda . Farooq Ahmed Khan today convened a meeting of Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs).
Senior Superintendent of Police Doda . Arif Rishu, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Doda . Neeraj Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda . K.L Sharma, Block Development Officers, Returning Officers and Asstt. Returning Officers of all the eight Blocks of the District attended the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC said that the elections in the District will be held in one phase and the Gazette Notification will be issued on 10th of October 2012, while the last date for filing of nominations will be 17th of October 2012. He said the scrutiny of papers will be conducted on 18th of October 2012 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be 20th of October 2012. The Polling and counting of votes would be conducted on 7th of November 2012.
DDC asked the BDOs to provide all sort of assistance to the Returning and Assistant Returning Officers to establish their Headquarters at all the Block Development offices.
