Srinagar – Minister of State for Power, Shabir Ahmed Khan giving details of present status of the proposed power projects on Chenab River in Kishtwar district said that 13 power projects having capacity of 5470 MW are planned for execution. He said out of these 12 projects, four are being taken up under State Sector, one under Central sector, three in Joint Venture and four in IPP mode. He said action for implementation of the main projects in the district has been initiated and most of these projects are targeted for completion in 12th/13th plan period.
The Minister was replying to a question of Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo in the House.
Nazir Ahmed Gurezi and G. M Saroori also raised supplementaries and demanded completion of the power projects in the State and absorbing local unemployed youth in these Power projects.
