Srinagar – Expressing happiness and satisfaction at protests against Rahul Gandhi at the Kashmir University, the chairman of the Hurriyat (G), Syed Ali Shah Geelani, on Saturday said that the courage shown by the young students had upheld the honour of the entire Kashmiri nation.
By their full-hearted representation of the aspirations and wishes of the Kashmiri people, the students have proved that victory over the new generation of Kashmiris would be impossible for India, Geelani said in a statement.
Felicitating the students for their protests, the separatist leader said that this section of intellectuals was an asset for Kashmiris who would be justified in regarding them with pride.
The Kashmiri people should emulate these daring young students and be coherent with respect to the freedom movement, he said.
Kashmiiris have offered untold sacrifices in their struggle, he said. Where parents would lead their sons to the altar with their own hands, the honour of our womanhood too has been violated at the hands of the Indian forces, he said.
By protesting, the students of Kashmir University have fulfilled the demands of these sacrifices and proved that they are capable of the nations leadership, he said.
Geelani again warned conscienceless elements in the university to desist from their lowly acts not try to harm the interests of Kashmiris.
If they do not stop aiding Indian designs, they will be hauled up before the court of the people, and exposed before the masses, he said.
