Srinagar – As many as 1,43,860 beneficiaries are being provided the supplementary nutrition in twin districts of Anantnag and Kulgam on which an amount of Rs. 10.12 crores have been expended while as Rs. 14.90 crore have been distributed among the 34,622 beneficiaries under Old Age Pension scheme to provide assistance to widows, old age and destitutes besides, Rs. 1.68 crore have been provided to the students of the twin districts during current financial year.
This information was given during the review meeting held here under the Chairmanship of Director, Social Welfare, . Bashir Ahmad Bhat here today.
It was also given out in the meeting that Rs. 6.75 crore as pension were distributed among 21,248 beneficiaries of Kulgam district besides, Rs. 62 lakhs under various scholarship schemes were provided among the students.
The meeting was also informed that 6,456 pregnant and lactating mothers were provided assistance of Rs. 2.33 crore while under SABLA scheme an amount of Rs. 94.20 lakhs were utilized for providing supplementary nutrition and skill development of 45,678 adolescent girls.
Director, Social Welfare impressed upon the officers to ensure that poor and destitute be provided the financial assistance and supplementary, nutrition on priority basis to provide succour to the deserving beneficiaries.
