Srinagar – Two people, including a police officer, were killed and five others injured in different overnight road accidents in the Kashmir valley, official sources said here today. They said a vehicle hit and critically injured a person Abdul Gani Kaloo at Nishat.
He was immediately rushed to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) where he died. An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of District Police Lines (DPL) Anantnag Manzoor Ahmad Khan was killed on the spot and two constables Tawseef Ahmad and Parveez Ahmad were injured.
The injured were admitted to hospital. A vehicle hit and injured one Nisar Ahmad Khan at Wayil in Ganderbal while a 40-year-old Saleema was hit and injured by a vehicle at Kupwara. Another pedestrian Mohammad Imran Wani was also hit and injured by a vehicle at Tangmarg. The injured were rushed to local hospitals. Wani was referred to SKIMS in a critical condition.
