Srinagar – Jammu and Kashmir police and revenue officials destroyed bhung cultivated in three districts in the state, official sources said here today. They said police and revenue officials on a tip-off conducted a search operation at Nagbal and Hapatnar in south Kashmir district of Anantnag. Bhung cultivation spread over 15 kanals of land has been destroyed, they said adding no one was arrested.
However, cases against the land owners had been registered. In similar operation at village Acher and Magam Handwara, in Kupwara district police and locals destroyed bhung cultivated over vast area of land. They said in village Brah Bandina, bhung cultivation spread over 7 kanals of land has been destroyed by police in Pulwama district.
