Srinagar – Jammu and Kashmir Police have claimed to have busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba module involved in the arson of a shrine and a mosque in the central Kashmir district of Budgam recently. Six LeT militants found involved in the two incidents have been arrested, a police spokesman said.
As per investigation, the module has been found involved in the burning of Baba Haniefu din Zairat at Ratsuna in Beeru area and a mosque at Narbal near Magam, he said, adding those arrested were: Zahoor Ahmad Khan alias Zubair, Barkat Ahmad Malik alias Abu Talha, Assadullah Dar alias Assad, Aijaz Ahmad Dar alias Imran , Rouf Ahmad Dar alias Rafeeq and Farooq Ahmad.
Among them, one stated before the judicial magistrate that he was directed by the Lashker militants in Pakistan to burn the religious places to ignite an agitation like that of 2010, the spokesman said, adding the investigation was going on in the Dastgeer Sahib fire incident at Khanyar.
