Srinagar: In yet another shock to consumers within days, oil companies have hiked the price of non-subsidized LPG cylinders by nearly Rs 200.
According to the new rates, non-subsidized domestic cylinders will now cost Rs 920, while the commercial category will be available at Rs 1732.
Succumbing to pressure from oil companies, the union government has enforced another major cut in subsidies within just 12 days.
Earlier, non-subsidised LPG cylinders (domestic) were announced to be available at around Rs 750, while consumers would get only six cylinders per year at subsidised rates.
The state government has already announced that consumers would get only three subsidized gas cylinders for the remainder of the current fiscal year up to March 2013. (Observer Monitoring Desk)
