Srinagar – Describing the killing of five militants including Commander Usman by Army and police in a joint operation at Wangath Ganderbal on Monday as a big loss, Hizbul Mujahideen today claimed that nine army men were killed in the encounter.
Hizb spokesperson Saleem Hashmi said, The encounter between militants and army at Wangat village in Ganderbal district claimed lives of nine soldiers and several troops were injured, adding that these militants were active for a long time.
The statement further reads that Hizb Chief Syed Salluhidin has paid tributes to the slain militants and said that they were determined to fight and sacrifice their lives.
On specific information about the presence of a group of militants in the forest areas of Wangat village in Ganderbal district, Rashtriya Rifles and the special operations group of the State police had launched a joint operation on Monday morning and killed five militants in the encounter. (KNS)
