Srinagar, Sept 30: Police Sunday said Hizbul Mujahedeen attempt to revive activities in Shopian area, when foiled after four of its cadres were arrested.
Shopian police along with 62 RR and CRPF arrested four militants of HM outfit namely Altaf Ganie resident of Zainapora, Aadil Shah , Sadam Shah and Zahid Shah resident of Rawalpora, Shopian. Huge quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from their possessions that include four AK-47 rifles, sixteen magazines and 500 round of AK ammunition. Besides, few OGWs of the group who were aiding the militants were also arrested, said a police spokesperson in a statement.
Meanwhile Shopian police and 62 RR busted a hideout at Nallah Dongri near village Chitragam, Shopian, in the jurisdiction of police station Zainapora. Two SLR rifles without magazines and two .303 rifles without magazines were recovered from the hide out. All the weapons recovered were rusted condition. A case has been registered in this regard, he added.
