Srinagar – In order to receive and consider the provisional balance sheet regarding profit and loss account of the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC), 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of shareholders was held here today with the Minister for Tourism and Culture . Nawang Rigzin Jora, who is also the chairman of the Corporation, in chair.
Minister of State for Tourism . Nasir Aslam Wani was also present in the meeting.
It was disclosed in the meeting that the Corporation has earned a profit of Rs 2.80 crore during 2011-12. The meeting was informed that the Corporation has recorded revenue receipts amounting to Rs 32.25 crore as against the expenditure of Rs 30.44 crore during the same period.
The Managing Director, JKTDC informed the meeting that cumulative losses suffered by the Corporation from its inception in 1970 have been wiped out. He informed the shareholders that all available management tools are being applied for generating more and more revenue for the corporation.
Speaking on the occasion . Jora said that there is lot of scope in expanding the activities of the Corporation for overall facilities of the tourists in particular and people of the state in general.
The Ministers appreciated the work initiated by the management and expressed their satisfaction on the performance of the Corporation.
Commissioner Secretary, Tourism and Culture, . Atal Duloo, senior officers of the Tourism Department and JKTDC were present in the meeting.
