Srinagar – Minister for Youth Service and Sports, Mr. R. S. Chib today urged upon youth to take part in sports as well as in academic activities so that the new generation will bear sound mind in sound body.
The Minister was addressing an inaugural function of T-20 tournament at Sopore today. He said Government is doing its best to promote sports culture in the State and every possible facility is being extended to Sports lovers. He asked the youth to prepare themselves for competition not only at State and National level but also at International level.
Referring to the development of Tulbal ground for national stadium, the Minister assured that the matter will be discussed and project will be formulated for providing better stadium facility to the sportspersons of Sopore.
Earlier, the Minister visited the residence of recently killed Sarpanch and expressed his deep shock with the bereaved family.
MLA, Sopore, Haji Mohammad Ashraf, SDM, Sopore, Secretary Sports, ADC, Baramulla and several officers accompanied by the Minister.
The Minister also visited the house of Sarpanch at Nowpora Kreeri, Baramulla who was recently killed by some unidentified persons.
The Minister also laid foundation stone of Government high school, Gund Chasotra during his visit to Langate.
