Srinagar – The President, Pranab Mukherji, who is on a three day visit to the State, visited Nishat garden in the afternoon. He also took a boat ride of Dal Lake.
Governor, N. N. Vohra, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah besides top brass of police accompanied the President during the visit.
During the boat ride the President was briefed about the conservation of world famous lake and rehabilitation programme launched by the government for the displaced people. He was also apprised about the progress made on STPs, house connectivity, dredging, trunk and sewer lines and other conservation measures.
The President took the boat ride from Nehru Park, went through Kabutarkhana and Char Chinari. The President deboarded at Nishat Ghat and later visited the famed Mughal Garden.
