Gool – Minister of State for Hajj, Aquaf, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ajaz Ahmed Khan has stressed the greater need for generating maximum awareness about the healthcare facilities among the people especially those residing in the remote pockets of the state so that prompt health benefits under different schemes could be ensured at grass root level.
Inaugurating one day Health Mela under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) at Tehsil Office Complex, Gool in Ramban district, the minister said that coalition government was committed to provide basic amenities of life to the people residing in all three regions of the state and has revolutionized the health services in the state.
Terming ASHA workers as instrumental in providing healthcare guidance to the expecting mothers at their door steps, Khan called upon the ASHAs to put in their best efforts in educating the women folk about the benefits under NRHM to reduce the mother and child mortality rate by ensuring institutional deliveries. The Minister also exhorted upon the Sarpanches and Panches for generating awareness about different schemes launched by the Government in their respective areas for the assistance of common masses. He further asked them to keep a close coordination with the officers of different departments in execution of developmental works.
Later, the Minister convened a public darbar at Gool where the people of the adjoining area put forth various developmental demands pertaining to their locality which mainly include early completion of roads under PMGSY, upgradation of schools, upgradation of Gool-Sangaldhan road, Building for High School Dalwa, Community Hall at Gool, provision of Dakbanglow and JK Bank branch at Dharam, staff shortage, electrification of left out morhs, construction of Chanu fisheries form, compensation to farmers due to heavy rains.
Responding to the demands of the inhabitants of the area, Khan said that he himself was well versed with the problems being faced by the people and efforts were being made to mitigate these in a phased manner.
He directed the Executive Engineer PMGSY to ensure time bound completion of PMGSY roads in the areas for the socio economic transformation of the people. He instructed the District Officers to pay frequent tours of remote belts to ascertain the priorities and accordingly put up their best efforts in solving the day to day problems of the people
Later, the Minister chaired meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samitis of CHC Gool, PHC Sangaldaan, PHC Dehda, new PHC Indh and new PHC Surrindi.
Among others, District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Gansham Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Anwar, Chief Education Officer, Vinod Soni, Chief Animal Husbandry, Dr. Salim, Assistant Commissioner Development, Engineers of RDD, PMGSY, Assistant Director Fisheries and offices of various departments were present on the occasion.
