Jammu – Demanding fare hike in view of diesel price rise, transporters in the state today decided to observe a one-day strike across the state.
“The Government every time increases the petrol and diesel prices without taking care of transporters, who are running the show on same fares since years,” Anil Chopra, senior Vice President, All Jammu and Kashmir Transporters Welfare Association, said in a meeting here today. Mr Chopra said, “The transporters have decided to remain off the road tomorrow.”
“Either the government has to roll back the diesel price hike or revise our fares otherwise, we will go on indefinite strike in the coming days,” the transporters leader added.
