Srinagar – Burn Hall School lifted the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) football cup by beating Poloview club in the final match played at Bakhshi stadium here on Sunday.
In a statement issued here, a spokesman said Burn Hall School won the match by 1-0.
The spokesman said that Chief Minister Omer Abdullah was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.
He said that the CM awarded Rs 25000 and a trophy to the winning team while as Rs 15000 and a trophy was given to the runner up team. All participant teams were given football gear. Fair play trophy was awarded to D.P.S Srinagar, he added.
He said that all 16 participating teams were awarded consolation prize as full Football Kit.
Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, R S Chib along with Additional D G, CRPF Anirudh Uppal and IG ,CRPF Sudhir Pratap Singh were also present on the occasion. The tournament was conducted with an aim to promote football among youth of Srinagar and also to give them a chance to hone their talent, the spokesman said.
