Srinagar – The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly led by its Chairman, Mr. Rafi Ahmad Mir today conducted an extensive tour to Mughal Road and took stock of the pace of work on this prestigious project.
Legislators, Ms. Indu Pawar, Mrs. Bimla Luthra, Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani, Syed Basharat Bukahri and Peerzada Mansoor Hussian were also part of the Committee.
The Committee urged upon the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and complete the project in a time bound manner. They stressed for maintaining the quality of work as per the laid down specifications. They also stressed for creating wayside facilities for the people enroute the Mughal road.
The Commissioner Secretary R&B, Mrs. Tanveer Jehan apprised the Committee that the construction work on 7 Major bridges costing Rs. 55.75 crore from Bafliaz to Shopian is in full swing and will be completed by the end of October this year. She also briefed the Committee about other features of the projects and status of execution activities.
District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Chief Engineer R&B, Kashmir, Chief Engineer PMGSY, and other officers and engineers of various departments besides senior officers from Assembly Secretariat also accompanied the Committee.
