Srinagar – The Womens Golf Association of India professional ladies golf tournament concluded at Royal Springs Golf Course (RSGC) today with Simriti winning the first prize of Rs 1.97 lacs in a closely contested final round. She defeated Nalini Singh and emerged as the winner with a final score of one under par. She was the only golfer who finished with sub par score over three days.
All the golfers and the organizers were appreciative of the course management and the facilities provided during the event. This is first time a ladies professional event was organized at RSGC.
The secretary RSGC Mr Ghalib Mohiudin Shah gave away the prizes to the winners and said in his speech that more such tournaments will be organized to promote women golf in Kashmir.
Mrs Nuzhat Gul turf manager RSGC and Mrs Champika Siyal from WGAI were present on the at the prize distribution ceremony.
