Srinagar – The Jammu and Kashmir government has set up a committee for implementation of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) sponsored project for Space based Information Support for Decentralized Planning (SIS-DP).
The committee has been set up by the government by an order through the General Administration Department (GAD) under order No. 934-GAD of 2012 dated 05.09.2012.
The committee will look into the interdepartmental coordination through interaction with line departments in understanding the specific information requirement using the services of the project.
It has also been asked to review the progress of the project and suggest measures and scope for the improvement in implementation of the project.
The 18 member committee headed by the Chief Secretary of the state, has administrative secretaries of different line departments as its members. The departments include finance , planning and development, Housing and urban Development, tourism and culture, agriculture production, information technology, public works, PHE/I&FC, forest, rural development, health and medical education, education, animal/sheep husbandry.
The Commissioners of the Municipal Corporations of Srinagar and Jammu cities, Project Director SIS-PD (NRSC Hyderabad) and the Director department of environment and remote Sensing shall be its other members.
The committee, according to the GAD orders shall meet twice in a year. (KNS)
