Srinagar – R.S. Chib minster for Youth Services and Sports flagged off the group 50 students on a trekking expedition here on Monday.
In a statement issued here, a spokesman said that 20 female and 30 male students of Government Physical Education College Ganderbal left for a two days trekking program from Shopian to Shardah Sharife. The group has become the first one to trek via Peer Ki Gali, he said
Speaking on the occasion, Chib expressed said that such activities would help build mental and physical strength in the students.
Trekking is adventurous journey in areas where common means of transport are not generally. I hope the trekkers will take full advantage of this opportunity and will learn a lot, he added.
Director Youth Services and Sports S. Jipal Singh, Joint Director Y.S. and S. Madan Lal, Deputy Director Mohammad-Din among others were present on the occasion.
