Search operation in Tral; Army resorts to aerial firing to disperse protesters

Tral—Government forces on Friday morning launched a massive search operation in forests of Tral area of South Kashmir Pulwama district.

Official sources said that government forces launched a joint search operation in the woods in Tral following a tip off about the presence of militants.

There were some firing shots in the woods when the forces were sealing the area, they said.

Forces also resorted to aerial firing to disperse protesters who were protesting and pelting stones on them to prevent them from entering a forest area in Tral

Reports said that youth took to streets, pelted stones on forces and blocked their way leading to Channad forest of Pastuna village of Tral.

Forces fired shots in the air to disperse the protesters.
