Srinagar: 125 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, taking the number of cases in J&K to 5,956, officials said.
“125 new Covid-19 cases were detected in J&K. While 102 of them are from Kashmir, 20 are from Jammu,” the officials said.
Among fresh cases, 32 cases were reported from Srinagar, 17 from Baramulla, 15 each from Budgam & Anantnag, 10 from Bandipora, eight from Rajouri, six from Kulgam, five each from Kupwara & Kathua, three in Udhampur, two in Poonch and one each in Pulwama Ganderbal , Ramban & Kishtwar, they said.
They said that 46 more patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals.
The number of confirmed cases has now reached 5,956 out of which 4,590 are in Kashmir, while 1,366 are in Jammu, the officials said.
There are 2,492 active cases of the coronavirus disease in J&K — 1,913 in Kashmir and 579 in Jammu — and 3,382 (2,605 from Kashmir and 777 from Jammu) patients have recovered, according to officials.
The J&K has witnessed 82 Covid-19 (72 from Kashmir, 10 from Jammu) deaths so far.
