SRINAGAR: Panic gripped busy Jehangir Chowk in city centre here after police fired few tear smoke shells to disperse a group of people who were carrying body of Zahid Rashid. The group was carrying body of Zahid from the SMHS hospital towards his home.
Later the police took the body into their possession for legal medical formalities. A police official when contacted said that the group of people forcibly took away the body from the hospital without allowing the authorities to complete the legal formalities. The body was later handed over to his family at Chadoora. Police had also used teargas on protesters outside SMHS Hospital.

The incident recorded by a civilian, who apparently was part of the group, showing a group of policemen intercepting an ambulance in Srinagar which was carrying the mortal remains of Zahid Rashid who was killed during Chadoora encounter – went viral on social media.
The moment video was uploaded on Facebook it attracted immediate attention and outrage of the netizens.
Clear shrieks of some woman can be heard in the backdrop of the video while as the cops are seen not allowing the ambulance to move.

The boy, who apparently shots the whole scene, also criticizes the non-intervention of the pedestrians and traders who seem to be busy with their work.
Earlier another video from the scene showing Govt forces firing live ammunition directly at the protesters went viral on social media.
As the protesters clashed with the forces near the encounter site pelting stones, the forces besides firing teargas shells were seen aiming AK-47 guns directly at the protesters.
The men in uniform were seen firing while chasing the protesters, a video carried by a news outlet which has gone viral on Facebook and other social networking sites reveals.
Three civilians died due to bullet injuries and a number of others were injured. In SMHS Hospital alone 13 injured being treated have been hit by bullets.
The forces were firing directly towards the civilians who were pelting stones, said a photographer who was at the scene. In todays encounter there was no stray bullet, he said.
