JAMMU: With the aim to streamline the working of the various Aadhaar Services, the Government on Monday notified the fee structure which shall be charged by the service providers for providing various Aadhaar Services to the people at the Enrolment Centres.
According to an order issued by the Government, there will be no fee for Aadhaar Generation, Mandatory Biometric update and BFD/Status Query, an official spokesperson said.
The fee for Biometric update and Demographic update has been set as Rs 25 each and fee for Aadhaar Search using e-KYC/Find Aadhaar/any other tool and colour out A4 sheet has been set as Rs 20 while for Aadhaar search using e-KYC, Find Aadhaar number and any other tool, B/W print out on A4 sheet has been set as Rs 10.
According to the fresh order, the Deputy Commissioners/Tehsildars/Executive Officers shall ensure that these rates are duly publicized for the awareness of the general public and shall also ensure that bonafide residents are not overcharged by the service providers.
The ECIL has been asked to ensure the strict compliance of the order through its service providers and shall also get these rates displayed prominently in all the enrolment centres for the information of the general public.

Aadhaar Not Mandatory For Social Schemes: SC
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday said the unique identification number – Aadhaar card cannot be made mandatory for availing benefits under social welfare schemes.
This was stated by a bench of Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul.
Senior counsel Shyam Divan had challenged a spare of orders issued by the government making Aadhaar mandatory to access benefits under various schemes.
