SRINAGAR: A joint meeting of Nodal Officers of Agriculture department, various dealers and the representatives of manufacturing companies dealing with Bio and Organic fertilizers was held here at Agriculture Complex Lal Mandi today under the chairmanship of Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi.
Director Agriculture emphasized on the use of Bio and Organic fertilizers in the fields, to increase the productivity of the crops. He impressed upon the field agencies of the Department to educate the farmers about minimizing the use of chemical fertilizers.
He impressed upon the companies that quality Organic/ Bio fertilizers should reach to the farming community, which are free from any weed seeds and degradable materials.
Mr. Andrabi directed the Companies operating in the Valley to get their products analyzed by the quality control Laboratory of SKUAST-K and only those products will be entertained and promoted by the Department that qualify set standards after the analysis. He said that the companies which will not follow the directions of getting their products analysed from SKUAST-K, their products will be seized and action as warranted under law will be initiated against the delinquent companies.
