Srinagar: J&K government today suspended five Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) following allegations of irregularities in supply and distribution of nutrition items to Anganwadi centres.
“Pending enquiry into the reported irregularities in supply of nutrition (items) and distribution of substandard nutrition items in Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) projects (Anganwari Centres), the government has placed under suspension five CDPOs with immediate effect,” an official spokesman said here.
The suspended officers are Bharti Sharma (the then CDPO, Vijaypur), presently attached with the Deputy Director (ICDS) Jammu, Seema Bharti, CDPO, Purmandal, Babu Ram Tandon (the then CDPO Samba), presently posted as District Social Welfare Officer, Kathua, Parvesh Sharma, CDPO, Ghagwal, and Mehmooda Akhter, in-charge CDPO, presently attached with the office of State Mission Director, ICDS, Srinagar, he said.
During the period of suspension, Akhter would remain attached with the office of Mission Director, ICDS, Srinagar, and rest with the office of Deputy Director, ICDS, Jammu, the spokesperson added.
