Srinagar- An Army officer and a Police officer was injured as encounter broke out in Gadole area of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag on Wednesday.
News agency GNS reported that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Kokernag.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
A top police officer said that during intial exchange of fire one army officer and a police officer received bullet wound injury. Both have been immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
A senior police officer also confirmed about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.
