BARAMULLA- The closing ceremony of 3rd District Baramulla Taekwondo Championship was held on Monday at JKSC Indoor Sports Complex, Khwajabagh, Baramulla.
The Championship was organised by Baramulla Taekwondo Association under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA).
The competition comprised of all age divisions with inclusion of the youngest age division (Pee Wee). The final day witnessed a massive combative skill show between the Senior and Junior Athlete’s in both male and female categories. More than 100 players participated in different weight categories.
The championship was closed off with the demonstration of Taekwondo fights by young boys and girls of different clubs/institutions.
The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Adv. Neelofar Masood (Joint Secretary, J&K Taekwondo Association) joined by Dr Khalid Mehraj (Patron) Baramulla Taekwondo Association as Guest of Honour.
While speaking on the occasion, the Joint Secretary congratulated all the medallists for taking part in the championship. She said that the Gold medallists will have a chance to participate in the forthcoming UT Taekwondo Championships. The guests then distributed medals among all the medallists and memento of honour were given to Coaches also.
Special Guests on the occasion were Ramanjeet Kaur, Farkhanda Khan, Mumtaz Nazir (Joint Secretary, BTA), Mohsin Ali (Coach), Zain Nazir (International Medallist).
The technical team was lead by Danish Manzoor (Indian Team Athlete) along with all the officials to make this event technically fair for every participant.
