Srinagar: Police Monday evening detained an ex-militant after conducting a raided on his house in Kellar area of south Kashmirs Shopian district, official sources told GNS.
They said the men from counter-insurgency Special Operation Group (SOG) picked Barkat Awan, son of Nek Muhammad, who is an ex-Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant, for questioning.
Sources said the Barkat was released from prison in year 2006.
Pertinently, a Hizb militant, Showkat Awan of Shopian, was arrested near Line of Control last week after he had infiltrated inside this part of Kashmir.
