Srinagar: J&K Bank conducted District Level Review Committee meetings in Budgam and Bandipore districts.
Chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Aijaz Ahmad, the review meeting in Budgam was organised by Lead Bank Office Budgam and was attended by Chief Planning Officer Budgam, representatives from RBI, NABARD, bank coordinators and representatives from line departments.
Lead District Manager Budgam Shahzad Hussain briefed the house about the achievements made by the banks during the first quarter of the current financial year.
He said, The banks in the district have disbursed an amount of Rs 87.47 Crore (Priority + Non Priority) against the target of Rs 487.95 Crore. Out of these, Rs 46.80 Crore have been disbursed under priority sector against the target of Rs 365.72 Crores earmarked for the FY 2014-15 thereby achieving 12.80% in the sector, while as under non-priority sector the banks have disbursed Rs 40.67 Crore against the target of Rs 122.23 Crore, registering a growth of 33.27%.
Chairman DLRC Aijaz Ahmad appreciated the banks and financial institutions operating in the district for achieving Current Deposit Ratio of 75.03%, which, he said, was very encouraging.
He stressed upon financial institutions to ensure quick disposal of beneficiaries cases without unnecessary hassles.
He also directed the line departments and sponsoring agencies to release the Subsidy in time for achieving better results besides reconciling the cases submitted to various banks on Priority.
DLRC Bandipora
To review achievements under Annual Credit Plan 2014-15 for the quarter ended June-2014, J&K Bank Lead Bank Office Bandipora conducted DLRC meeting of District Bandipora, which was chaired by District Development Commissioner, Bandipora Dr. Shah Faisal.
Lead District Manager Bandipora Riyaz Hussain Baba informed the house that the district had recorded an achievement of 12% in priority sector during the first quarter of the financial year by disbursing Rs 26.13 Crore against the target of Rs 221.68 Crore.
Under Priority sector, the banks disbursed Rs 26.13 Crores against the target of Rs 221.68 Crore, while as under Non-Priority sector Rs. 16.85 Crores were disbursed to 544 beneficiaries for development of the area and eradication of poverty and unemployment, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLRC Dr. Shah Faisal advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to cooperate and coordinate for achieving the goals and targets of development and eradication of unemployment.
He also directed various Agencies to conduct awareness programmes at Village level, block level and district level to generate proper awareness among the people.
