Srinagar- An encounter broke out between militants and state forces in Parigam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday, police said.
A joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Parigam, said a police official.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an encounter, the official added.
When the reports last came the exchange of firing was going on, he said.
