
Srinagar- The Srinagar city witnessed two fire incidents on Monday, as about five residential houses were damaged in Noorbagh area and two more houses were damaged in the evening at Chanpora, Srinagar.
The city witnessed two different incidents of fire, damaging seven residential structures.
An official from the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) department said that they received a fire call from Gati Colony, Noorbagh, Srinagar, at about 11:20 AM, reported news agency KNO.
He said that in the incident about five residential houses were damaged while the cause is under investigation.
However, on the other hand, locals alleged that the fire was caused due to a short circuit in an electric smart meter.
Also, in another late evening fire incident, two residential houses were damaged in Chanapora, Srinagar, while the cause is under investigation, he said, adding the fire call was received at 05:54 PM.
Meanwhile, officials said the cause of the fire at both places is under investigation and is being ascertained.
