
Srinagar- Massive forest fire broke out at Bonibagh Cherwan in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District on Sunday.
Locals said that the fire broke out this evening and has spread to a vast area. “Fire erupted in the forest compartment 69-S. The area under fire is very dense in range,” they added.
An official said, “Efforts are on to douse the flames. We are trying our best. We have succeeded in stopping it from spreading to the adjoining areas.”
Meanwhile, several landmines exploded after forest fire raged in Mankote and Balakote Sector of Poonch district on Sunday.
Officials said that fire erupted in the forest area of Makote and Balakote Sector today. Due to this, several landmines exploded in both areas.
However, until this report was filed, there was no loss of life or any damage to the properties reported. More details awaited. (With KNO, GNS Inputs)
