
Srinagar- Three young karate athletes from South Kashmir made their mark at the Shotokan International Karate Championship 2025 in Amritsar, Punjab, where participants from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka competed.
Zaid Gulzar, Ayesha Aejaz and Mohammad Mukaram represented Kashmir at the event. Zaid and Ayesha secured gold medals, while Mohammad won bronze.
Zaid Gulzar said, “I give full credit to my parents and coach Aamir Gulzar for providing me with the platform to achieve my dreams.”
Ayesha Aejaz said, “I urge young people to take part in such sports events and stay away from social evils like drug addiction.”
Coach Aamir Gulzar expressed his pride, saying, “This is not only a moment of honor for the athletes’ families but for Anantnag and the entire Jammu and Kashmir.” (JKNS)
