Doda- The district administration here on Saturday asked non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to provide details of their activities, sources of funding and directed them to register on the central government’s DARPAN portal for better coordination.
These directions were issued by District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan while presiding over a meeting with NGOs, trusts and social organisations operating in the district to discuss their activities and sources of funding, an official spokesperson said.
The meeting, he said, was attended by 45 such organisations, represented by their heads and representatives.
During the meeting, he said, the DDC emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability.
“He urged organisations to provide details of their activities and sources of funding and directed them to register on the central government’s DARPAN portal for better coordination,” the spokesperson said.
Mahajan, he said, also stressed the importance of conducting an audit of funding for the past three years and directed organisations to display signboards in their offices and vehicles used for social activities.
