SRINAGAR- The Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) has announced selection trials in Rowing for its Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE). The trials are scheduled to take place today, Wednesday (April 5), at Bakshi Stadium. The trials begin at 10:30 AM.
Selected athletes will be enrolled at the KISCE, which is located at Nehru Park in Dal Lake. The centre offers a residential scheme along with expert coaches and international infrastructure.
Rowing is one of the oldest Olympic sports and has been on the Olympic program since 1900. The Olympics hold 14 Rowing competitions, seven each for men and women. These include: Single sculls, Double sculls, Quadruple sculls, Coxless pair, Coxless four, Eight, and Lightweight double sculls. All events are raced over a course of 2000m.
