Srinagar- The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Tuesday morning conducted raids at five locations in three districts of Kashmir including the residences of two Hurriyat leaders in Srinagar.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the raids were conducted in a case related to militancy funding.
He said the raids were conducted in Rajbagh and Alochibagh localities of Srinagar.
“Residences of Hurriyat leaders Bilal Sidique and Bashir Molvi were raided early morning,” he said.
Meanwhile, as per a statement, the SIA carried out searches today in connection with investigation of a case under FIR number 22/2022 , U/S 13,17,38 and 40 of UA(P) Act, PS CIK/SIA Kashmir.
The searches were conducted at multiple locations in 3 districts Kupwara, Baramulla and Srinagar.
“As per details, a case under the above said title is currently under investigation with SIA Kashmir to unearth the logistic and funding support channels of terrorism, emanating from Pakistan and its ISI network,” the statement said.
“Since the conspiracy is deep rooted and has multi ramifications hence covers wide range of subjects and locations to be scanned and analysed, the current searches have been an essential aspect of the investigation to collect relevant and vital evidences for the logical conclusion of the case,” it said.
Obeying the search orders issued by TADA Court Srinagar, the sleuths of SIA Kashmir today conducted search at five potential locations in the three districts of Kashmir under legal provisions of criminal procedure code.
However, no arrests were made from any the searched locations while investigation of the case is going on, the statement said.
