J&K Taekwondo Team Represents India In International Championship

SRINAGAR- The Taekwondo team of J&K represented team India at 3rd Mount Everest International Taekwondo Championships held at Pokhara, Nepal from 23rd to 26th September, 2022. The championship was organised by Nepal Taekwondo Federation.

The team, preparing for the said championship under Master Atul Pangotra (Taekwondo Coach) and Instructors Rohit Sharma and Mukesh, performed amazingly throughout the championship.

Among the players, J&K’s Aryan Singh Chib brought laurels to India by clinching a Gold medal in the Junior weight category while 6 of the athletes qualified for the competition’s quarterfinals.

The team was comprised of both Kyourigi and Poomsae athletes.

Narayan Sharama, Soham Sharma, Achutam Dev Singh, Suryaansh Victor Sharma, Aryan Singh Chib, Kushagra Sharma, Supriya Dogra, Govind Singh, Rudhra Pratap Singh, Dushyant Kapta, Rutba Majid participated in Kyourigi Division, while Soham Sharma, Shanaz Parveen, Nitin Singh Rathore, Kushagra Sharma participated in Poomsae Division.

The team was accompanied by Nitin Singh Rathore as a Captain and Harish Tokas as Coach who headed the team from J&K to Nepal.

Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul congratulated the whole team along with the coaches for the amazing performance and also assured her support for Aryan Singh Chib and the other members of the team for their future endeavours.
