
Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported 64 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus on Saturday, taking the number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in the Union Territory to 478626.
According to officials, 49 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in Kashmir Valley and the remaining 15 from different parts of Jammu division.
In the Valley, they said, Srinagar reported the highest17 new cases of virus, Baramulla 11, Pulwama 7, Budgam 6, Kupwara 4, Shopian 2 and one each in Anantnag and Bandipora. The districts of Ganderbal and Kulgam detected no new cases on Saturday.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu detected a maximum of 11 new cases of Coronavirus and one each in Udhampur, Rajouri, Doda and Kathua. No new cases were reported from Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi.
Also, the officials said that the death toll in the pandemic remained unchanged at 4784 in J&K—2351 in Jammu division and 2433 in the Valley.
“Moreover, 154 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 46 from Jammu division and 108 from Kashmir division,” they added.
