Hybrid Militant Held In South Kashmir’s Awantipora: Police

Srinagar- Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a hybrid militant of Al-Badr from South Kashmir’s Awantipora.

Aamir Ahmed Parray of Kashwa Chitragam in Shopian was arrested by a joint team of police, army’s 42 RR and the CRPF personnel at a checkpoint established in Beigund area of Awantipora, a police spokesperson said.

The checkpoint, he said, was established on specific information regarding movement of militants.

“Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including a pistol & 4 pistol rounds were recovered from his possession,” the spokesperson said.

“In this connection, a case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation has been initiated,” he added.
