Corona III Wave Slows Down, 1982 Test Positive

Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir witnessed lowest daily Coronavirus cases for the first time in the last 20 days, as 1982 more people tested positive for the virus on Thursday while seven others succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 1288 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus on Thursday while the remaining 694 were detected in various districts of Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by the virus in J&K to 442462.

In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 413 new cases of virus, Baramulla 253, Kupwara 230, Budgam 116, Anantnag 71, Bandipora 56, Kulgam 47, Pulwama and Ganderbal 44 each and Shopian 14.

In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum of 310 new cases of Coronavirus, Doda 76, Udhampur 74, Kathua 62, Ramban 45, Samba 34, Kishtwar 28, Rajouri 26, Poonch 21 and Reasi 18.

“Moreover, 5093 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 1554 from Jammu Division and 3539 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.

Also, they said that seven more people, five in Jammu and two in Kashmir, died of Covid-19 related complications during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll in the pandemic to 4699 in J&K—2299 in Jammu and 2400 in Kashmir.

The officials further said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
