Srinagar- Coronavirus claimed lives of two more people in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday while 169 fresh cases of virus were reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 101 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in the Valley and the remaining 68 from different districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected by the virus in J&K to 341459.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 48 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 15, Pulwama and Kupwara 10 each, Ganderbal 9, Budgam 5, Anantnag and Bandipora 3 each. The twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian registered no new cases of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 34 new cases of infection, Reasi 13, Doda 10, Kathua 5, Udhampur and Poonch 2 each and one new case each in Rajouri and Samba . No new cases of Covid-19 were detected in the two districts of Kishtwar and Ramban.
“Moreover, 107more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 20from Jammu Division and 87 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
Also, they said that two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in Kashmir Valley during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 4530 in J&K—2199 in Jammu and 2331 in Kashmir.
