On August 5, 2019 when GOI scrapped Kashmir’s Semi Autonomous Status it also disbanded J&K State Consumer Commission and all District Consumer Redressal Forums in order to pave way for Central Consumer Protection Act.
But despite the lapse of two years after the Central Protection Act 1986 was extended to J&K it remains to be implemented. With the result thousands of applicants in Kashmir are moving from pillar to post in search of justice.
