SRINAGAR- A two-day review workshop on “Teacher Training Manual” for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) teachers, organized by Education Planning Management and Monitoring (EPM&M) Wing of the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), concluded here on Saturday.

The Manual has been prepared by the ECCE experts as per the guidelines of the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) New Delhi.

During the course of two days, experts from the Higher Education Department and the SCERT undertook an arduous task of reviewing the content prepared by the teacher educators at the elementary level.

“After a careful review, the experts recommended changes in the content while enriching it through their observations,” Jan Mudasir Gul, Academic Officer, SCERT, said. “The main aim of the exercise was to make the training manual compatible with the guidelines of NEP-2020.”

The Manual, he informed, would be shared with the District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and other teacher educators for the capacity building of the ECCE teachers at the grassroots level after suggestions have been incorporated.

Head of the EPM&M, Riyaz Ahmad Dar, while hailing the efforts of the reviewers hoped the universities and colleges of the valley and beyond will continue to lend with the SCERT their helping hand in giving the policies and other interventions the right direction.
