Youth Drowns To Death In Jhelum

Srinagar: A youth drowned to death on Tuesday while extracting sand from river Jhelum here in Sonawar area of the city.

27-year-old Marif Ahmad was extracting sand from river Jhelum at Sheikhpora Sonawar when he slipped and subsequently drowned in the river on Tuesday afternoon, reports said.

His body was fished out by River Police with the help of locals, reports said.

The deceased youth was a resident of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
