Kargil Clerics Seek FIR Against Rizvi For Blasphemy

Jamiat-ul-Ulama Isna Asharia submitted an application at Police Station Kargil for lodging an FIR against Waseem Rizvi

Kargil: A prominent religious organisation from Kargil on Wednesday urged the authorities to lodge an FIR against Waseem Rizvi for his blasphemous remarks on Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the Holy Quran.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Jamiat Ul Ulama Insa Asharia said that Rizvi’s remarks is a well thought out conspiracy to provoke and incite communal violence in the country.

“Therefore, request you to kind lodge an FIR against Waseem Rizvi and arrest him immediately so that communal harmony prevails in the country.” the statement reads.

It further adds that there are several videos on the Youtube and other social media platforms in which Rizvi used blasphemous comments against Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the Holy Quran.

“After these utterances of Waseem Rizvi, Muslims across the country are enraged and their religious sentiments are hurt. Such incidents can lead to violence if he is not stopped to do preposterous acts”. the statement adds.

It said, “These acts are contrary to our constitutional and moral values and these types of hatred can’t be tolerated in a civilised society. But sadly no action has been taken against his Islamophobic rant”

The body alleged that Rizvi has been continuously stirring up the controversy so that all his past misdeeds of corruption which he had “committed by selling off lucrative waqf lands” in the state of UP to land mafias during his tenure as Chairman of Shia Waqf Board.
