Soldier Shoots Self Dead In North Kashmir's Kupwara

Srinagar: An army man allegedly committed suicide on Saturday after shooting himself using his service rifle in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

P. Harish Kumar, serving in 21 Mahar shot himself fatally while on duty at Forward Post in Tsuntwari in the border district, official sources said. Kumar was shifted to 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. However, the doctors there declared him dead.

It was immediately not known why the soldier took the extreme step. (GNS)
