Srinagar: The Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Bahaudin Naqshband will be observed with religious gaiety and fervour in Naqsband sahib shrine at Khawaja Bazar, Nowhatta here on Sunday.
A good number of devotees are expected to offer congregational prayers called “Khoja Digar”.
The tradition continues from the times of Hazrat Khwaja Khawand Mahmood since 1608 AD.
On the occasion, religious scholars will throw light on the life and the teachings of Khawaja Bahaudin (RA). The day is celebrated every year on the 3rd of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar.
In this connection, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir also held a meeting in which CEO Wakf Board informed that Khoja Digar (Prayer of Asar) is being traditionally offered near the shrine of Khawaja Naqasbbandi Sahib at Khawajabazar Srinagar on 3rd of Rabi-ul Awwal on road and sought its permission.
“The chair directed that it shall also be offered as per the Covid-19 SOPs/Guidelines issued by State Executive Committee, besides, necessary arrangements shall be made in this regard,” reads an official communiqué.
